Polling stopped after core changes

Post by whymehomie »

Hi,

When we made core changes in January, our cacti server stopped polling existing switches and routers. I can delete and add them back and they start working again but I have a lot of devices and it will take a long time to add them again.

What's in your Cacti log? What about permissions?

Hi,

The logs did not have anything related to snmap but I am new to Cacti so I may be looking at it wrong. Also, for some reason, when I checked today most of the devices were in recovering status. Any idea why it would automatically change to recovering?

When the devices start coming back online they migrate from down to recovering and then finally to up. It's more than likely who knows a network issue or a permission issue or simply the polar wasn't running. Since you did not upload your cacti log we really can't tell.

Is there a way to export the logs?

log is normal text file. Location is in configuration -> settings -> Paths tab
