SPINE error

Running cacti 1.2.24
spine doesnt work for a pollar, when i ran it in debug as
SPINE.exe -V 5 -R, i get
Database: Connection Failed: error: '2059', Message: 'Plugin caching_sha2_password could not be loaded: No such file or directory'

its a 'default' 1.2.24 installation using the windows all in one installer.. mysql8.0.

ive tried the few google hits to fix it, but alas, cant figure it out.

think i got it.. i had to go into spine and change the auth method for cactiuser
