Hello,
we use cacti 1.2.2 from Debian 10 (for now) with "Web Basic" authentication.
We have a few users with access only to read graphs.
When those users log in to http://cacti.example/cacti/ (or /cacti/index.php)
they get message:
"Permission Denied
You are not permitted to access this section of Cacti.
If you feel that this is an error. Please contact your Cacti Administrator.
[Login Again]
"
The "Login Again" brings them to the tree view. Is is possible to avoid this message and redirect these users directly to the graph browser?
Giving those users console access seems to be useless - they get in but still need to go to graphs.
I searched this forum but was unable to find answer for this issue (there were some topics related to admin login etc)

Re: unprivileged users get "Permission Denied" after login
Did you use the default user 'guest' configured under console->Configuration->Settings->Authentication
By default I think it's guest
So you can try under console->Configuration->Users then Guest, and here you have the Login options and try to activate the 'Show the default graph screen'
Maybe it's that what you want.

Re: unprivileged users get "Permission Denied" after login
I use guest as user template, since "Default User" didn't work properly.
I have played with this option too. But when user logs in (via HTTP) and tries to view /cacti/, permission denied message is produced, no matter what "Login Options" is set to.

Have them direct their browsers to graph_view.php instead of index.php. Upgrade to either 1.2.25 or 1.2.26.
