Devices are pinging but showing down
I have Cacti version 1.2.24 installed on Linux and out of about 100 devices a dozen or so are showing "unknown" even though cacti can ping them and we are using ping for down device detection. How do I resolve this issue?

Check your poller, if its cmd.php, try to install spine.

Do this in root, use sudo:
chmod +s /usr/local/spine/bin/spine
