Hello,
I'm currently upgrading from 1.1.38 to 1.2.23, and moving to a new machine & OS in the process.
I've been reading old posts and articles, found something saying that it was necessary to export all of the files in /var/lib/cacti/rra to XML before moving them over to the new version, and then use the rrdtool on the new machine to go from XML to rra
During the upgrade/move, we will be going from RRDTool 1.4.8 to 1.7.0
I'm trying to minimize downtime during the upgrade, and not having to mess around with the rra files would save me quite a bit of time.
I'm hoping that the article I found is outdated, and I can skip that step now.
Thanks for any info. If anyone has any general tips for a successful upgrade, I'd appreciate that as well.
Upgrading - necessary to export RRD files to XML?

No need to do that unless you are upgrading from a 32 bit OS to a 64 but OS.
Before history, there was a paradise, now dust.
