rrd files created without any data source... O_o

Post by mrene »

Ok here's the deal: last friday, we upgraded cacti on our win2k server. We passed from 0.8.5a to 0.8.6c.. We also changed PHP and MySQL, switching to 4.3.10 and 4.1.9. However, two of our devices seems to have some problems. For these two devices (Cisco routers 3845), we can't monitor CPU utilization, memory (free, used) and IO memory (free, used). The graphs are empty. So, we deleted these graphs, the data sources and the .rrd files. HOWEVER, after each polling (5 minutes), the .rrd files are re-created even if we deleted the data sources! :o How is it possible?!

Even if we re-create the graphs and the data sources, the graphs are still empty.

We got another Cisco router 3845 and everything's working fine for it.

We don't want to delete the devices to re-create them because we are taking a lot of statistics (~ 40 data sources each).

We checked all the data sources to be sure that there was not another one that was re-creating the .rrd files.

Someone knows what's going on? :-?

Some data sources for the two devices remained in the poller cache... I use phpMyAdmin and edited the poller_items table to delete all reference to host[0]... It's okay now!

You don't need to exit the poller_items table. Just run System Utiltites->Clear Poller Cache from the web interface, it will clear all the items out and repopulate the table.
