Y-axis marks at 90, 180, 270 and 360

Post by FredZwarts »

I made a graph for the direction of the wind, using data from my weather station. It uses values in degrees. (0=N, 90=E, 180=S, 270=W, 360=N.) I have fixed upper and lower values for the graph of 0 and 360, respectively. This works very good, except that the Y-axis has tick marks at 0, 100, 200 and 300. For angles it woud be more natural to have tick marks at 0, 90, 180, 270 and 360. Is there a way to specify this in the cacti page for the definition of a graph?

Check rrdtool.org and it's documentation and let us know what you find.

Thanks, it turns out that I have to use the option 'Unit Grid Value'. I value of 30:3 works perfectly.
The reason that I did not try it earlier is that the explanation (when hoovering the question mark) made me think that it is a deprecated option.

If you feel the help description needs some wordsmithing feel free to open a bug on GitHub with the revised text and we would be glad to incorporate it into future releases.
