Good morning,
I am currently on a bandwidth monitoring project.
I manage to supervise the bandwidth of my switch but I would like more than that.
Indeed, I would like to obtain information on what transits there such as the source and destination IP address of the packets.
I can't seem to find plugins that can really help me. I tested with Flowview and I can't get what I want and the documentation on it is hard to find.
If you are in the same situation as me and you have found something that would be perfect for me.
If it's possible, if there are plugins available, if I have to downgrade Cacti to be able to supervise it, I would do it since I'm in the test phase.
Thanks for your help..
Sorry if the topic is in the wrong channel it's my first time
Good day

Flowview is the only plugin that is going to do what you want.
Re: Bandwidth monitoring / Cacti 1.2.23
Ok I see thank you,
I'm having trouble seeing if I have to configure something on my switch for it to work and what exactly I have to configure on the flowview plugin for it to work and for me to be able to retrieve what I wish .
Do you have any documentation links to help me?
THANKS

Re: Bandwidth monitoring / Cacti 1.2.23
There is a little documentation for the plugin, about how to install it. We provide a systemd service file, but expect you to know enough Linux or how to Google your way through installing it.
https://github.com/Cacti/plugin_flowvie ... /README.md
Setting up Netflow on your router is on you, there are a few thousand different routers and switches out there, so we aren't going to give instructions on how to do that on each of them. Google will usually help with that also.
The gist is that you are going to setup netflow on your router and point it at the Cacti server's IP on port 5000 (that is the default and is configurable in the plugin).

Re: Bandwidth monitoring / Cacti 1.2.23
Ok thanks, I followed your advice and it works, I can send my packets from my switch to my flowview plugin on my cacti server.
But I have a new error that makes my database crash.
Here is the error in the Cacti logs
I can't interpret it ...
2023-03-01 15:25:31 - CMDPHP PHP ERROR NOTICE Backtrace: (/plugins/flowview/flowview.php[50]:flowview_get_chartdata(), /plugins/flowview/functions.php[1531]:CactiErrorHandler())
2023-03-01 15:25:31 - ERROR PHP NOTICE in Plugin 'flowview': Trying to access array offset on value of type bool in file: /var/www/html/cacti/plugins/flowview/functions.php on line: 1531
I don't see which table he is talking about and how to solve the problem

Remember this that the flowview plugin only supports one device per listener currently. So, if you have a dozen routers importing data, you need to define a dozen listeners to avoid errors.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Ok thanks
You must then configure the systemd service to receive the captured data and transfer it to the Cactus database.
I can’t find any documentation to know what I need to set up and where. Do you have any idea?
