Table 'cacti.plugin_thold_host_failed' doesn't exist

Post by eholz1 »

Hello Members,
Thank you for cacti. but I have another cacti mystery.
I am running cacti-1.2.2 on an Oracle 8-based linux system.
I am using spine with matching version, and rrdtool 1.7.2.
I tried to install the thold plugin, ver 1.5.2 - as soon as I enable the thold plugin
I got this error:
CMDPHP ERROR: A DB Exec Failed!, Error: Table 'cacti.plugin_thold_host_failed' doesn't exist

This error never goes away. I also get the mysql base error like this:
CMDPHP SQL Backtrace: (/poller.php[827]:api_plugin_hook(), /lib/plugins.php[83]:api_plugin_run_plugin_hook(), /lib/plugins.php[221]:thold_poller_bottom(), /plugins/thold/includes/polling.php[77]:thold_prune_old_data(), /plugins/thold/thold_functions.php[5939]:db_execute(), /lib/database.php[272]:db_execute_prepared())

Would this be due to a permissions error? Or perhaps some mysql related setting, etc

Thanks,
eholz1

Could be a permission issue if the mysql user doesn't have access to create tables, but hard to say otherwise. Cacti 1.2.2 is a bit old (we are on 1.2.24 currently) and you should also try the development branch of thold (version 1.7) to see if the issue is resolved there.

OK, thanks for the info - I will dig around - perhaps I will; look at 1.2.24, etc
