help with poller time after upgrade

Post by shanekennedy »

centos8-stream with all latest updates running cacti/spine 1.2.21 upgraded to 1.2.23 via rpms

before/after runtimes
2023-02-01 10:04:11 - SYSTEM STATS: Time:9.6598 Method:spine Processes:4 Threads:20 Hosts:306 HostsPerProcess:77 DataSources:7200 RRDsProcessed:0
2023-02-01 10:06:00 - SYSTEM STATS: Time:58.7376 Method:spine Processes:4 Threads:20 Hosts:306 HostsPerProcess:77 DataSources:7200 RRDsProcessed:0

cacti sends email alerts every minute saying:
Maximum runtime of 58 seconds exceeded for poller id 1. Exiting.
&
WARNING: There are 3 processes detected as overrunning a polling cycle for poller id 1, please investigate.

i've read all the internet references to above alerts finding nothing relevant to resolve my issue

any assistance would be greatly appreciated

thank you

The 1.2.23;spine had a bug. It's been fixed. Grab a new copy from GitHub 1.2.x branch.

thank you, that worked & also dropped poller time to 5.6secs

prior to installing spine from source on centos8, i had to:

yum config-manager --set-enabled powertools # this provides the help2man rpm

yum install -y net-snmp-devel mariadb-devel help2man
