Aggregrate graph is blank

Post by fpiorek »

Hello,

Running CACTI version 1.2.17 on a Windows server.

I created an aggregate graph using 3 working graphs.

When I Preview the aggregate it shows as a blank page.

I turned on Graph Debug and at the bottom shows ERROR: don't understand ',8,*'

RRDtool Command:

c:/rrdtool/rrdtool.exe graph - \

Any ideas what causes this error and how to resolve it?

Thanks

Are you using a Template or just a strait up Aggregate? Upload a screen shot of your Aggregate Template/Graph. The form data.

This might be a bug. Can you turn off the MAX data sources on both the inbound and the outbound and just enable the AVERAGE?

Hi,

Thanks for your quick replies.

Disabled the MAX statements and it did allow the graph to display.

I found that enabling the first two MAX statements the graph did still display.

When I enabled the 3rd MAX statement that is when the graph goes blank again and gets the error.

The problem with not having the 3 MAX statements is that we do not see the totals for the inbound and outbound links.

Is there a work around for this?

Thanks again.

Being that so much has changed since 1.2.17, I would first recommend an upgrade. Then, if the problem still exists in 1.2.23, then open a bug on GitHub. I think it's pretty easy to reproduce.

Seems to be working on 1.2.23. But I would also suggest you spend more time on Aggregate and compare the numbers you see in various rendering forms. Having MAX and AVERAGE on the same graph requires that you use a different manipulation method otherwise, in the example you gave, you will not see the peaks.

Also, I think I know what you are trying to accomplish, and right now, it does not look possible. A feature request on GitHub is in order. Something to the affect.

- Total the Average's of like items and keep their type (area)
- Total the Max's of like items and their their type (line)

Wish it did that. Sounds like a perfect aggregate to me. Sadly, it'll need an enhancement.

Can you pull the 1.2.x version from GitHub, and if this issue persists after that, please open a bug on GitHub.
