Cacti php appcrash

Post by fristi737 »

Hello Mr. Cacti,

Almost overnight we are facing problems with Cacti graphs, seeing huge gaps in each graph (see attachement).
After digging a little deeper, we see that the probable cause is php, generating a lot of errors in the Windows event log.
The problem seems to be the php process crashing all the time. Even when executing "php -v" on cli gives the below output:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: php.exe
Application Version: 7.0.26.0
Application Timestamp: 5a15e6c2
Fault Module Name: php_snmp.dll
Fault Module Version: 7.0.26.0

Cacti version running is 1.1.31

Anybody any idea how we can fix this (buggy) behaviour?

Kind regards,
Lieven

I would say upgrade php. I would also say, maybe upgrade Cacti. But take some time to ensure you don't compromise production, if indeed this is the case, production. Cacti 1.2.22 is stable, though it requires some patching post, which is why we are preparing 1.2.23. We don't recommend php-snmp at this time due to lack of ipv6 support and some advanced snmpv3 functions.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
