how to install spine non-default dir - not /usr/local

Post by ciela2 »

Need help installing spine on an RHEL 8.6 server in a different base directory than /usr/local/.
/usr/local is owned by root, and I don't have root privileges on the server

Spine-1.2.22 files are downloaded to the server - how / in which file do I change the base install directory for spine.

Greatly appreciate any assistance.

Thanks.

After compiling, you can copy both spine binary and spine.conf into any directory, and then edit the spine path on the settings page and point to that location. Make sure you test spine using the documentation.

./spine -R -V 3 -S

Appreciate the command TheWitness - it all worked fine.

Next time, I'll read the INSTALL/README documents more thoroughly.

Thank you
