Can't disable boost - how to force rrd file update?

Hello,

I'm trying to migrate Cacti from a server running the 1.2.16 version to a server running Cacti 1.2.22.
On version 1.2.16 it currently takes around 270 seconds for the poller to complete.
Boost is enabled and if I try to disable it, it says the operation was successful - but it doesn't really disable On-demand RRD file updating - it stays enabled.
RRD files are updated every 30 minutes.

The question here is about migrating updated rrd files to the new server.
When I look at the time last modified on the rrd files it's equal to the last time that boost ran.
Don't understand "on-demand" updating - how do I demand an rrd update, so that I can migrate an up-to-date rrd files to the new server. Pulling up the graphs doesn't seem to work.

Hope this is somewhat clear - trying to avoid breaks in the graphs on the new Cacti server.

Well, there isn't really enough information here to provide much feedback.

You can force a boost update using the following cli

cd /var/www/html/cacti
php -q poller_boost.php --force

If you have too many records in the boost cache in your version of Cacti, and your system is real large, you may have issues with boost not completing. There was a design change in the 1.2.22 release that allows boost to process these very large caches. Not sure if thats your problem. If it's not, hold off to upgrade till we release 1.2.23.

Appreciate the reply TheWitness, that command is exactly what I needed - without that my plan was to wait and transfer blocks of rrd files to the new server every 30 minutes right after boost completed its cycle.
This works great and will save a lot of time.

With the latest boost (1.2.22++) you can flush 40+ million boost records with ease. Just need to have the right number of threads. So, a 6 hour boost update is not a big deal for smaller systems.
