Script Server - Invalid date.timezone value (Solved)

Post by Gluntzmaster »

Hi Guys,

I'm building a system from scratch, new pc, new Ubuntu workstation on top, new cacti. Old pc was hand-me-down Sony Vaio from 2006. Sweating my resources-r-us.
PHP 8.1.2-1ubuntu2.6
Cacti 1.2.22
Ubuntu 22.04LTS

Apart from Cacti/Mariadb/Apache2, this is a virgin install. No tinkering, no Dummkopf Rubbernecken und keepen Hands in den Pockets.

At test-starting a ss_<name> script server file I'm getting:
boss@betelgeuze:/var/www/html/cacti$ php script_server.php
PHP Warning: date(): Invalid date.timezone value 'Europ/Amsterdam', we selected the timezone 'UTC' for now. in /var/www/html/cacti/include/global_constants.php on line 28
And much more of this either pointing to the constants file, but also to other included php files.
Note the missing 'e' in the date-zone field.

It will lead to all graphs being drawn in UTC time, where I want it to follow local-time

Of course I've looked for a fix on this, but apart from the occasional haughty on-liners in forums I've found nothing I can work with.

I hope one of you can help me fix this

Regards,
Leo

the "Europ/Amsterdam" string was the culprit.
I found it in /etc/php/8.1/cli/php.ini

Correcting the spelling did the job

Problem solved,
