network interface graphs showing wild spikes

Post by jaybobo »

apologies if this is already answered somewhere, i had a search around but couldn't find anything which resembled my issue.

a customer of ours is seeing these wild graph values on a number of interfaces, mostly on Juniper QFX switches - where the peak and average values are orders of magnitude higher than the 40gbit links they are monitoring, example being:

has anyone else seen something similar to this and could you suggest a direction worth heading for investigating this? and whehter you think it's likely to be a cacti issue or a junos issue?

the real challenge is that i don't have access to their cacti installation so troubleshooting is a PITA, so really just looking for some guidance on where to concentrate our efforts...

What's the max value in the RRDfile? You can get that with

Code: Select all

rrdtool info filename
