can cacti display fiber optic line optical attenuation?

I've tried using oid, but it still doesn't work

As long as it returns data, you can monitor it. Likely use a script input method that calls snmpwalk. Sometimes get does not work though due to missing suffixes on the oid, like a trailing .0, so look carefully for differences between what you walked and what was responded to. Get might just work.

If you walk .1.3 you get a lot of data and get might not work, but add a zero .1.3.0 and it might work. It's just an example. In your case review carefully what you walked vs.what responded.

When all you see is a bunch of dot notated numbers, it's easy to get lost.
