Recommendation for Cacti Poller process and threads

Post by hariesfa »

Hello,

I wanna ask about recommendations for my cacti deployment, as below:
Image

I'm already using cacti 1.2.16, spine 1.2.16 as poller, boost (with OnDemand RRD Updating).

Currently, i'm not sure for how many processes and threads in data collector to be used with those above hardware.

Thanks

Cacti running on Linux is tiny. I have a VMWare box with 8 cores and 64 GB of ram running a VM with 3 cores, 6 GB RAM alongside 10 other various servers and I have no issues. The other servers are a Windows Server 2008 R2, 4 Windows 7 and about 4 other CentOS servers. You should be good. I have about 50 hosts, PING only and PING with SNMP. No issues using CMD.php and 1 minute polling.
