Monitoring device with bad checksum in ping reply

I have a device I want to monitor (using ICMP ping). The problem is that the ping replies have a bad checksum (!) and Cacti interprets it as no answer (ICMP ping Timed out).

Any suggestions how to work around this problem?

The problem (checksum errors) went away after upgrading the Cacti-server from Debian 10 to 11...
