Also, can I delete the old log files that are huge in size with similar messages as above? I think this could be stopping my graphs abruptly in between.

Re: Huge log files

Post by santoshkotla »

I am new to Cacti and this is the first time I have deployed it on a Ubuntu 20.04 and configured a weathermap plugin for the same.

I have disabled the test scan that I had configured in Automation and the Log files continue to generate. Also, the logs don't make a lot of sense so I am not sure if this is a bug.

Any help would be much appreciated. :D

Thanks in Advance!!!

Open your console, manage devices. Sort by host name and look to see if fat fingers configured a device with that errant "IP" address. If so, fix it. Alternatively, you can just paste that address in the search area.

I just noticed that these are automate issues. Try disabling that, or check the settings there to see if possibly something was entered incorrectly. I don't use it myself, so this is the end of my knowledge.

You mentioned Automate tab. Automate is a console entry on the 1.x branch. What version of Cacti are you currently running?

Hi,

I am running the 1.2.19 version as of now. I hit the machine for a reboot and then the log messages stopped coming. Not sure what stopped them...

Thanks,

Sounds like a bad IP range was put into the automation network, but then it was possible corrected but not before automation ran and continued to do so with the bad range. All speculation.

But the logs are definitely down to a bad range being used.
