guest user login blank (http auth)

Hello,
I have upgraded cacti from 0.8.8g to 1.2.2 (debian 9 to debian 10).
Now, guest account using web authentication does not work: empty output
and I see following in log:

auth settings:

Authentication Method: web basic authentication
primary admin: no user
guest user: guest
user template: no user

users (all enabled)
admin, web basic
guest, local

login as the admin user works, guest does not. Both did work in 0.8.8g
