Cacti and Device Up/Down Notification Settings

Hello,

I have a beginner's question.
When I monitor a up/down device failure i get a email of this event - works ok.
Can I define a script for to run in the up/down notification event?
I want to run a script and send a message to a **SPAM**.

I use:
cacti 1.2.17
thold 1.6

Up / Down notifications are handled by the monitor plugin, and it has no way of running a script. The thold plugin can run scripts on threshold breaches, but I assume that is not what you want.

Thank you for your response.
Is it possible to replace the monitor plugin with another that has this functionality?
I tried the thold plugin which has thresholds but I have a problem with the fact that when the device is down then nothing starts on that device because it is down.
I also looked in the RRD graphs there, the last data is valid from time when the device was UP and I do not see the current data are invalid when the device is Down.

No other plugin has this functionality. You could write your own of course, or modify the plugin to do it.
