Cacti Graph Vs Windows Task Manager Different

We are graphing our servers and I was running some tests (A sustained 100GB transfer from one server to the target server) and when I look at the graph in cacti, it doesn't match up to what I am seeing in Task Manager (See attachments).

By the looks of it, Windows is reporting in Megabytes Per Second and I am graphing in Megabits per second (If I go 60*8 I get 480 which roughly matches what I am seeing in task manager). But when I look at the documentation, it is saying it should be Megabits per second.

Am I missing something here? Any ideas anyone? I have also tried using the 64bit Counters graph type but it makes no difference.

This is just weird. I added a bytes per second graph to cacti and even that isn't matching with anything.

Are your graphs using the 64 bit counters (its been a while, so I don't even recall if Windows even supports 64 bit counters)

I thought that too but I did a side by side with 32 and 64 bit counters and the results were virtually identical:

Ya, from what I recall, Microsoft has never supported the 64 Bit counters, so you are only getting 32bit data, so nothing over ~100Mb is ever going to look right.

I know this sounds like a crazy idea but are there any replacement snmp servers for Windows that may support 64 bit counters? I remember reading somewhere saying that Windows has dropped support for the SNMP service.

You're right, it is the 64 bit counters. I just did a transfer test to one of our CentOS 7 vm's and it showing up as I would expect.

There is SNMP Informant, but it's been forever since I last used it.

I think I figured out a way around it. I set the data source template to "High Collection Rate" and it seems to be reporting correctly at the moment. Thanks for the help

Edit: Scratch that, if I am transferring around 900Mbps it wraps around quicker than the counter can handle.

I noticed that I could increase the polling rate to 10 seconds instead of 30 with the "High Collection Rate". I have duplicated the Data Profile and changed it to 10 second intervals but when I graph any device, all of a sudden is starts logging 1.24Gbps+ which when I look at the graph in Windows, it never goes above 950Mbps.

For those interested, I ended up giving up and rolling my own solution using Powershell scripts and Data Input methods. It's not perfect by any means but it will do until a better solution arrived (Aka. Microsoft updating SNMP and nondepreciating it). Thanks for all your help
