Issue with Device Automation

Post by HeyZeusIII »

1.2.16 on Ubuntu 21.04
I use device automation to add devices, create graphs and place devices on a tree.
After upgrade to 1.2.16, the Device Templates stopped matching my devices based on SysDescr.
I verified that I have "Automatically Add to Cacti" selected in the Network Discovery Range
I can see the devices being discovered in the Discovered Devices list
I validated that the string matches the SysDescr OID via SNMP from the server
snmpget <redacted> 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 = STRING: "Juniper Networks, Inc. ex2300-c-12t Ethernet Switch ...."
I also tried changing to Juniper Networks, Inc.* to no avail.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Any errors in the logs? There were multiple automation related fixes in Cacti 1.2.17 and 1.2.18.

The logs don't show any errors. It's really odd. I will look at the newer releases and see if I can't find the solution there
