cacti did not install in the /var/www/html/cacti directory

hello
I am noticing that cacti did not install in the /var/www/html/cacti directory, and therefore don't know where the plugin directory is. when i got to the plugin management page it is plank like blank blank.

I do see there are 2 directories
/usr/local/share/cacti/plugins
/usr/share/cacti/plugins

but when I copy the pluggins to those dir's still nothing.
is there a symbolic link somewhere. givin that cacti is not in the www/html/cacti

On debian based systems, it's more commonly found under /usr/share. Make sure you remove any plugin_ prefix from the directory names, and that the website has at least read capabilities.
