Hi there,
I have installed a new server dedicated for remote polling.
I have used this instruction https://fossies.org/linux/cacti/docs/Ho ... llers.html
what i now get is when going to Console: Management > devices > server.host.tld i get the error ERROR: Failed to connect to remote collector.
I see in the access logs on the remote poller that it tries to connect to the apache server.
when i shut down the webserver on the remote the error changes:
ERROR: Failed to connect to remote collector.
Why does the main cacti want to connect to the webserver on a remote poller?
cacti 1.2.17 and remote pollers

Re: cacti 1.2.17 and remote pollers
Both error messages appear to be the same.
FWIW, I most often see the connection failure when there is a network problem between the main and remote database. The main shouldn't be accessing the remote web; in one of my scenarios, my main cannot reach the remote web server and I do not get any error.

You are right. i copied the same error twice.
this is the other error:
FATAL: You are not authorized to use this service
as i said. i can see the main cacti connection via port 80 to the poller.
is this normal behavior?
