Graph not added due to invalid data source output

Hi all,

I just did a clean install of Cacti 1.2.17 on a Windows 10 Pro PC. The installation completed successfully and I am able to log into the interface however for the test device that I added I am unable to view the "Unix - Ping Latency" graph because it shows as "Not Being Graphed".

I had a look at the log file and the only errors I could spot were the below ones:

Please can anyone point me in a direction of where to start looking...?

Check your error logs, but also there is a problem with a test_data_source function that has been fixed in the latest github sources. That will porbably be released at the end of this month.

Thank you for the feedback - I will wait for the next release then and give it a try. I did go through the logs in the web interface and those were the only errors that I could see with regards to the graph. (unless you're referring to a different error log perhaps?)

I also want to mention that I've created a test install on an Ubuntu VM following this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6-Y7AEI1MQ) and on that install the graph is working, however sometimes for newly created devices it will also show as "Not Being Graphed" but then if I remove the graph from the "Associated Graph Templates" section and re-add it again then it shows as "Is Being Graphed"...

That sounds like an issue with the SNMP server not responding in a timely fashion in all cases.

Check for firewall, network or cpu related issues.

As for the test function, there's been a further fix today relating to generic OID template.

I installed the thold plugin last night and after adding a threshold for my test device I noticed that the ping latency was now showing as being graphed, however the graph itself is remaining blank.

Use the Troubleshooter to see if there are any issues between your graph and data source.

It comes back with an "Data Source returned Bad Results for ping" error.

When you edit the device, what does it show at the top of that screen?

Only the results of the latest ping.

So that sounds like it's not even running a poll against that host at all. Check your error logs and cacti log to make sure that there are no errors being generated. Also, what are your polling stats?

No error on any cacti log, no error on http error_log, no error on php-error

By the way, the case is worsth than what I think!
I try to delete the device (host name cisco with just the IP of cisco web site to see how the external access is ok), but now the RRD is not created at all.
And still no error in any log
