Hello all , I am new to cacti monitoring, yesterday I just instaled latest version 1.2.16, it's very nice for monitoring , but I'ts bit hard to setup propertly.
I have mikrotik on my network and I get installed the plugin and the template .
I have added the device successfully, I have added graph to monitor my ether1 WAN interface. I wait for few minutes boom I get the graph but unfortunately I get wrong values in Bytes, instead in MegaBits.
This is the bandwidth on my mikrotik ruter.
and this is the wrong data on my cacti graph

You just need to select the Bits graph from the dropdown, instead of the Bytes
Re: Mikrotik cacti bandwith in Megabits
cigamit: Thank you, I will try now that, which device template is best to use for RouterOS v6.48.2 ?
Generic SNMP Device ,Mikrotik template 0.8.8f or mikrotik plugin ?

Re: Mikrotik cacti bandwith in Megabits
Device Templates are just collections of graphs, so they don't mean much, there are just there for convenience. I just create my own Device Template for my Mikrotiks, and assign the graphs I want to it. These the graphs I use. Not every Mikrotik can utilize all those (like the Wireless). I just disassociate any graph from a host that can't utilize that graph.

@cigamit: thank you so much, I really appreciate it for your help.
Now monitoring works good
One more question how to add comment or description to that "ether1" interface on my graph.
Example
"ether1-WAN interface"

Re: Mikrotik cacti bandwith in Megabits
You just need to modify the Order on the Data Query
Data Collection > Data Queries > "SNMP - Interface Statistics" > click on Associated Graph Template "In/Out Bits (64-bit Counters)" > Change the order of the Suggested Values. If you don't see the one you want, you can add it below that one.
So something like this might work
Move the one you want to the top.
Data Collection > Data Queries > "SNMP - Interface Statistics" > click on Associated Graph Template "In/Out Bits (64-bit Counters)" > Change the order of the Suggested Values. If you don't see the one you want, you can add it below that one.
So something like this might work
Code: Select all
|host_description| - Traffic - |query_ifName| (|query_ifDescr|)
