Cannot get CPU Idle value or display in graph

Post by wchung »

We tried to create CPU Usage cacti graph for some servers, but there were two issues
1. Fail to display the CPU Idle data in the cacti graph
Actually we were able to retrieve the CPU Idle data via snmpwalk.
[07:32:44 root@monitoring-vm4.fra1.internal:/var/www/cacti]
# snmpwalk -v 2c -c noc_snmp rancher-d2-2.fra1.internal .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.11.53.0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ssCpuRawIdle.0 = Counter32: 3421656428

But the cacti graph could not show the data value.

2. Wrong graph of CPU Idle area although the data was displayed correctly
The CPU Idle data was able to be displayed, but in the graph, CPU Idle area was cut off.

Does anyone had the same issues and know how to fix it?

FYI:
cacti version: 0.8.8b
RRDTool Utility Version: 1.3
CPU Core of the server: 128

0.8.8b is extremely old, so all we can really do is ask what the logs say when polling that device?

Thanks, finally we found out that need to update the maximum value for data source of cpu_idle, then resolved the issue.
