Editing tree items - context menu unusable

Post by NetServicesGroup »

I'm using Version 1.2.2, and there was a recent upgrade from an install that was like 0.8.something.

I go into Console, click Management, click Trees, select the tree I want to edit, click the "Edit" button to unlock the tree.

In the far left column are directory-icons labelled "Tree Items". When I select one of the "Tree items", then right click one of the directory icons, a context menu tries to come up, but the text looks jumbled up with the text from the tree itself. I can see that it is trying to give me the options of Create, Rename, Delete, Branch Sorting, and Edit, but I can't actually left click these options. When I move the mouse, I can see that the mouse is highlighting the tree items that are sitting behind the context menu.

There does not seem to be anything I can do to make the context menu items be selectable. Does anyone know how to fix this, or what I could otherwise do to be able to edit trees?

Tried in firefox, brave, and chrome, it's exactly the same in all.

Thanks in advance!

I can't add sub-trees in any trees and it really sucks. Managing the trees via the web UI is kinda trashed like this. I hope there is some means to fix it that does not involve completely reinstalling fresh and re-adding everything by hand (for example if this is an unresolvable problem with the database conversion, somehow).

Upgrade to either 1.2.15 or 1.2.16, or the most stable 1.2.17 (not release, but in the 1.2.x branch).

Darn, this is the version that installs from the Debian 10 repo. Ok I will try and see how it goes.

Yep, works now. I'm grateful that the software takes care of the database upgrade and such. I wonder why Debian 10 is pulling down a 2019 version of Cacti from its repo.
