Random issue after upgrading from older version to latest

Post by Doreguul »

Good afternoon all,

We recently upgraded our cacti environment from version 0.8.8c to 1.2.16. Upon doing so, we were able to transfer everything over and everything we have transferred is working fine after some tweaks to the database size and poller. We use cacti for monitoring our cable modem network which is comprised of Arris E6000 CMTSs. I have recently turned up some new interfaces due to the load COVID has brought to our area and started to make the graphs for them. I re-indexed fine, found the data sources like I have done in the past, and then went to create the various graphs. When I go to create our multi-channel upstream SNR graph and then assign the data sources to it, I get this:
US SNR GRAPH FAILURE
US SNR GRAPH FAILURE
us snr fail.PNG (30.39 KiB) Viewed 605 times
US SNR REAL TIME FAIL
US SNR REAL TIME FAIL
us snr rrd fail.PNG (41.43 KiB) Viewed 605 times
When we looked over the logs while I created the graph, this was the entry that was in there:
CACTI LOG ERROR
CACTI LOG ERROR
cacti log error.JPG (29.82 KiB) Viewed 605 times
The odd thing is...we tried it 3 or 4 times yesterday to try and capture data and it created the graph properly 1 time using the same process we did for each.

The existing 3 channel snr graphs work, so those data sources are valid...it is just when we are grabbing the new ones for some reason.

Is there anyone that could help shed a bit of light on this? I can provide more info....just need to know what you'd want to look at.

Thank you in advance,
Craig D.

At the bottom of the Console menu is a Troubleshooting link, I would suggest you run that first on one of the failed data sources, as it can help to pinpoint some of the basic issues.
