Graph Values Incorrect

Post by agent006 »

I have a fresh install of Cacti 1.2.12 on Windows. Built using the windows installer. Spine poller running every minute.

Now with a few devices added, I can see there is a problem with the graphs. They are all the correct "shape" in that they show the right trends, but the values are too low. For instance where an interface should have values between 850-900Mbps, cacti shows 250-300Mbps.

I've tried various counters, confirmed it's not a bits vs bytes problem. I tried 64 bit counter graphs but the problem is the same. Initially I thought it was just the SNMP module on PFSense being incorrect, but I've noticed it affects our HP/Aruba switches in the same way.

Any advice about what to try next would be appreciated. I have used cacti in the past (actually graphing the same equipment) but it's moved on a lot since, so I'm a bit lost.

are you using 64bit templates/graphs for these devices ?
if not then you may be capped by the 32bit counter barrier

I'm coming to the same conclusion, that this is a 32/64bit counter problem. I do have a couple of my troubleshooting ideas that have landed me with correct values in their graphs. I've not had much time to spend on it lately, but I'll re-add the devices with 64bit and see if that fixes it.
