Login to cacti after ~ 24 hours fails

Post by proserv »

Hello,
Hopefully someone will reply to this post with a fix.
I had cacti running well for about 2 years. After running an upgrade to 1.2.12 it appeared to be OK, but about 24 hours later, cannot login to the GUI.
After upgrading ran mysql cacti < backup.sql which was the mysql dump of cacti prior to the upgrade.

So I thought perhaps the backup.sql was somehow incompatible with the new 1.2.12 cacti.

What I did then was drop the cacti database, and uninstalled the cacti port and then rm -rf /usr/local/share/cacti. Left /var/db/cacti which contains the .rra files intact.

Reinstalled the cacti 1.2.12 port. This time I did not upload the mysql backup database. Just left it the way the default is installed. I tested the login using both correct and incorrect credentials. When using incorrect credentials the login page displays in red wrong user/pass. About 24 hours later, could not login using correct credentials and, when using incorrect credentials, the 'incorrect user/pass' in red is NOT displayed.

I looked at log files and see absolutely nothing about failed logon's.

Operating System: FreeBSD 11.3 AMD/64
Web server: Apache/2.4.43
php version: PHP 7.2.30 (cli) (built: Apr 23 2020 01:33:20) ( NTS )
Copyright (c) 1997-2018 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v3.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2018 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.2.30, Copyright (c) 1999-2018, by Zend Technologies

After writing the above, again ran mysql drop database cacti; create database cacti;
and then add the grants to the cacti user. Finally run mysql cacti < /usr/local/share/cacti/cacti.sql
Now I had to login to the web GUI admin/admin and change passwd for admin user. So far so good but of course all my graphs are not present....

Then, I ran mysql cacti < /root/cacti-backup-5-11-20.sql

Now all my graphs are present and are populated with data.

In around 24 hours from now, the login will NOT work.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Now that I can login to cacti, wonder why the 95% is displaying 0.

Looking at 'last month' it displays:
cacti_graph_5.png
cacti_graph_5.png (43.39 KiB) Viewed 285 times
There is not a chance that graph has the right data.

Looking at graphs for last year, same thing, the data is incorrect.

How can I get it corrected?
Thanks.
