Cacti 1.2.9 - Linux Server - Poller/Cron Question

Guys...I know this is a question i've seen a ton here but, help me understand if I can do this? I have a pretty new install of 1.2.9 with the defaults 5 min poller interval and 5 min cron interval.
If i want to use the increased capabilities of faster polling for downed hosts etc...can I use 1 min Cron intervals and keep the poller at 5 mins, not having to change my existing graphs etc.?

I haven't been able to clearly find anyone doing this or an answer?

These is a fix in the upcoming 1.2.11 that will properly spread out the polling if you repopulate you poller cache under a 1 minute poller interval. I discovered that it was not working as I had designed it a dozen or so years ago. It's fixed now, and I can actually read the code now.

Thx Witness....I wasnt sure if I could poll my devices on the 1 min cycle and just update the RRD's etc. on that 5 min. poller. I'll wait for .11 and upgrade.
