where to add data source?

Post by matkoo »

Hello, probably a newbie question, but this is probably the best place to ask...
I run latest cacti distribution on my RPi and I would like to graph temperature of several RPis at my home. I followed steps found at https://www.onestep2.at/en/article/remo ... -and-cacti (excluding the VPN part), I have running SNMP scripts, I added new Data Input Method and I came to Add a new "Data Source". Here I stuck, as I cannot find a way how to add New data source.
Any hint, please?
Thanks

You should build a data template first. Then graph template, the associate that graph template with the device and create the graph.

OK, I did a Data source template, I did a simple graph template, but I cannot find it under Management>Devices>Mydevice>Associated Graph Templates.

Thanks

Oh, I have found that I can find the template not in Associated graph templates, but on the top - Create graph for this device.
Unfortunately it returns ERROR: No Data Source associated. Check Template.
So I will check.

Once you figure it out, it'll be like second nature.

Well, working now. Maybe a bit too sophisticated tool for my home use :-)
