How to graph script output

On the 1.1.38 version of Cacti I used to be able to graph output from a script. I can't seem to figure it out on 1.2.9. I used to follow these instructions:

However it seems on the new version the method to create a Data Source has changed. I cannot seem to find an updated document on how to do this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no real difference other than parameters are now quoted.

I appreciate your response however I am not understanding how to add a "Data Source". In the older version when you went to data sources you could click add in the top right. I want to graph script output not associated with any device. I am sorry I am not understanding, but if I could be provided with a little more clarity I would be willing to write up new documentation and share with the forum. Thank you.

You don't create manual Data Sources (you never did), you create Data Templates. You use those to create Data Sources, same way you use Graph Templates to create Graphs based upon data from those Data Sources.

detail the following steps.

2) Create a Data Source

Click Data Sources under Management

Click Add in the top right

The Data Template Section should be None and None, we're not using templates for this example.

Click Create.

Is there another how to? Again I would be willing to contribute time to document this if it has not been already.

This is the problem with outdated documentation. You create a data source template, that then gets used by a graph template, which in turn can be assigned to a device template. Templating does make everything a lot simplier when you have the same data sources across many devices.
