Tree View empty in 1.2.8

Post by fredl »

Hi,

Been working on a new setup of 1.2.8. I'm getting this when I click on Graph:

I've added devices, their graphs exist. I added the devices to the tree.

I notice in the Apache log: GET /graph_view.php?action=get_node&tree_id=0. That tree_id does not exist (starts with 1, I also checked that I can make a new tree but don't see any way to select any tree, let alone the devices in the tree.

Is the tree published? If the below is no:

Enter the tree. It will be gray. Click "Edit Tree", and select publish. When done, "Finish Editing Tree".

Yup, I made a second tree as well next to the Default tree. That one wasn't published before but the default tree was. I published the second tree as well but it made no difference. Also, when I have two separate tree there seems to be no picklist of any kind on which tree to view. I read somewhere about jQuery problems that might occur with plugins also using jQuery, but I'm not using any plugins. I checked the logs, don't see any problems anywhere worth mentioning.

There is an open github tracker for this one. I would suggest following/commenting on there as it's more active than this one.

You mean the one titled "Chrome sets graphs tree navigation view to width 0px" ?

I had same problem this morning although upgraded Cacti on Monday. I cleared browser cache and cookies (as this normally works), but I still got an empty page in both Firefox and Chrome. Then I just opened Management -> Trees page in Console to check whether the tree is published as suggested in this thread (although I was sure it was) and the problem was gone... :)

It seems this problem is back again for me. This time it wont go away by removing the cookies.

Does anybody have a clue as to how to properly troubleshoot this?

Someone submitted a PR on the 1.2.x branch to attempt to resolve this. Have you checked that out?

You mentioned that yeah, I responded to it earlier in this thread.I did check a few PR's, wasn't sure which one specifically you were referring to. Somebody asked for a database dump, I emailed it and never heard back.

I noticed that as well. One time it's removing cookies, other time it's changing themes (and back again optionally).

Still... strange problem.

Same behavior after installing from scratch 1.2.8 on a Centos 7.5.
Is this a bug?

The only way to have ir working properly is under classic theme.

thanks in advance.
