Monitor v 2.3.4 plugin not working smooth with cacti 1.2.2

Post by kimseng »

Hi team,

i used Cacti v 1.2.2 and i already install plugin Monitor v 2.3.4 the problem is i try to add a few devices and with ping ICMP service the result some device can ping and some can't but i already verify already by ping from server to all device are working fine and one more during i adding device we have result like

Ping Results
ICMP Ping Success (1.881 ms)

could you guide me which Monitor version is working smooth with my Cacti? or where can i check and fix this issue?

It is not monitor that handles that but Cacti itself. If you have an issue with a device and the results, Enable Device Debug for the device in question and check the debug output to see what's occurring. When you are done, disable the debug so you aren't filling your logs up.

Your spine process has the wrong right, it has to be:
chmod +s spine
and it has to be root
otherwise the ping icmp dosen't work
Test
Almalinux
php 8.2.14
mariadb 10.6.16
Cacti 1.2.27
Spine 1.2.27
RRD 1.7.2
thold 1.8
monitor 2.5
syslog 3.2
flowview: 3.3
weathermap 1.0 Beta

chown root:root spine
chmod +s spine

That's the full command line I can't give you more since I don't know where your spine is.
So go on the directory where spine is, and issue the 2 command I gave you
Test
Almalinux
php 8.2.14
mariadb 10.6.16
Cacti 1.2.27
Spine 1.2.27
RRD 1.7.2
thold 1.8
monitor 2.5
syslog 3.2
