I am unable to see text (but it's there). I looks like it's white pen on white background?

If theme is changed from the classic to another problem is resolved (but new one appear )

OS: debian 10
cacti: 1.2.2+ds1-2

Make sure you have the correct url_path set in your config.php, check your browser console for any errors.

error is the same with chrome, firefox, konqueror. No errors under console.

What version of cacti are you running?

current cacti: 1.2.2+ds1-2 (debian 10 last update). We are using cacti +8 years so upgrade path is long.

If I change theme (dark or whatever) I can see text. It looks like problem is css in classic theme.

You could try downloading the latest 1.2.x CSS file from github to see if that works for you (keep a copy of your current file aside so you can restore if you need to).

the problem is debian pkg "libjs-jquery-ui-theme-south-street" - jquery-ui.css and jquery-ui.min.css. Last update 2016 - https://jqueryui.com/download/

My "fix"

cd /usr/share/cacti/site/include/themes/
cp -ar classic classic.new
cd classic.new
rm jquery-ui.css
rm jquery-ui.min.css
ln -s ../../../../../javascript/jquery-ui-themes/smoothness/jquery-ui.css .
ln -s ../../../../../javascript/jquery-ui-themes/smoothness/jquery-ui.min.css .

and change via web theme to classic.new

theme "smoothness" shows text and numbers in calendar.

I am having the same issues. I tried your solution but it hosed my tabs at the top of the screen. I've not found anyone else having this issue. Surely, you and I can't be the only two.
Do you have any other ideas. The other themes have their own issues, mostly that they don't show all devices in the dropdown boxes. I really want to keep this theme.

I am having this issue as well on 1.2.16 on Ubuntu 21.04.

I tried "classic.new" symlink fix and found my tabs to be a mess as well.

I also tried placing a hard copy of the latest jquery-ui files in the themes folder, finding them to break the tabs as well.

Anyone concise fix other than dark mode would be appreciated.

works for me - Debian 11.3
Just modify /usr/share/cacti/site/include/themes/classic/jquery-ui.css and /usr/share/cacti/site/include/themes/classic/main.css
