Problem with SNMP - Interface Statistics and cacti 1.2.5

Sorry for my bad English. After having installed cacti 1.2.5, everything works perfectly, everything except the SNMP - interface statistics that always gives 0 items on any device in the network. Can anybody help me??. Thank you

If the devices you are attempting to communicate with are linux boxes, then the chances are your snmp configuration is not configured to allow polling of those interfaces. Use SNMPWALK to verify this.

it is a problem of understanding between cacti and AirOS devices, the same procedure with a switch if it detects the interfaces by snmp, but with Air0S it shows 0 items.

Does AirOS actually provide interface details via the standard SNMP OID's for interfaces? If not, you'd need a custom template to handle the differences.

If that provides them, in fact in cacti 0.8.8a works perfectly, or in other platforms like zabbx.

Are you sure you are running develop? That output is not complete, like you are not running 1.2.5, but something older or half merged.

So the problem would appear to be that the device in question isn't returning a ifName and that is causing an issue.

We are discussing why this is a problem since if the ifName isn't available it should then use one of the others, such as ifDescr or ifAlias (I forget which without looking at the resource file).

There was a change to use ifName because it was found that ifAlias was unreliable but now it would appear to be a problem for you so we will have to run a test to make sure it 's not broken.
