Cacti is switching SNMP monitored partition.

Post by KMoore »

Hello, some time ago I've installed Cacti to monitor my environment in which I have variety of devices in use. I monitor virtual machines and switches. For all these devices I'm using the SNMP and Threshold plugin (monitoring free HDD space on devices).
Sometimes I can see that SNMP accidentally changes the monitored partition on certain device (for example I monitor /home partition and Cacti after few days of device creation is changing the monitored partition OID to /opt). This is really problematic as I've a simple mail notification system also activated and when monitored partition is switched to some other, notification system sends the threshold alert or warning message.
I'm rather new to Cacti and I only try to debug the issue via checking the log file but nothing was found. Did you met such problem? Could you advice me how to debug it and find the root cause?

Cacti version: 0.8.8b
Cacti OS: unix
Plugins: Thold (0.5), Settings (0.71).

Best regards.

Yes, this was recently addressed in 1.2 so you would need to update from 0..8.8 to get those changes but that is a relatively big upgrade since you will likely have some plugins that won't be available for the 1.x branches.
