Hello,
I want to wrap my nodes on a colored box with colored border (colors will depend of nature of node (fw, vips, hosts, load balancer, router, etc...).
I know it can be done with ICON AICONFILLCOLOR and AICONOUTLINECOLOR.
What i want to know is if there is a way to assign ICON size relative to node size, something like:
ICON +2 +2 box
As my node labels have different sizes, and it will save me hassle of adjusting each one manually. Anyway maps are generated from an excel parsed by a python script (I discovered the gems inside random-bits directory just recently could have saved me a lot of coding) so I could adjust it depending of label size, but if it can be done directly from weathermap, all the better.
Thank you
Greetings

Re: Artificial ICON size relative to Node Size
That's an interesting idea.
Although it's making a feature out of a bodge, really. I guess the real request would be to be able to style the label box? Or do you use different colours for the label and the AICON?
I like to have all my AICON boxes the same size regardless of the content, so they line up nicely, but I see what you are talking about.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Re: Artificial ICON size relative to Node Size
Being able to style the label box in the same way the artificial ICON would be great, at least the border, as the inside in most cases would be nicer to color according to defined scale. Actually I don't use color for the label, on my excel I have a cell that correspond to ICON, and i just copy and paste the value with colors and all depending on the node nature. I have a sheet for nodes, another for link, other with header, and one more for variables that i use mostly to position stuff with excel formulas, values, like yspan (to create rows at y pixels), or starting x or y values for blocks of nodes.Howie wrote:Although it's making a feature out of a bodge, really. Didn't thought of that, I've tried it, and it looks better this way and saves me cherry picking ICON values depending on size of label.Howie wrote:I like to have all my AICON boxes the same size regardless of the content, so they line up nicely, but I see what you are talking about.
Thanks!
