Monitoring Folder Size On Win3k...

Post by MagnaChef »

I need to find a way to monitor the size (space usage) of particular folders on remote Win3k servers. Has anyone done this, or know of anyway to do this via SNMP or WMI?

I have googled it to death and have found nothing. Any Ideas?!

I didn't know there was a Win3k...j.k.

Have you tried making a script utilizing the diruse.exe command? You can learn more about the command here: http://tinyurl.com/6mjyn.

You could use NRPE_NT to run a script on the windows machine to return the required data. What you need to program yourself or look for a tool on the internet is how to calculate the folder size.
Have a look at http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=5842 - there I have summarized all possible ways to get data from Window to CACTI on linux/unix. You will find further links there as well.
