to increase verbosity of logging go to the cacti gui & select setting from the left column & under the general tab set the Poller Logging Level to the desired value
mine are in /var/log/cacti/cacti.log

retried 4 times last night and still the same issue. graphs are only showing in "summary" and no data is polled.

What linux distro did you used for your cacti server ? Mine is Debian Jessie.

Thanks for your help Shane

technique wrote:Saw this in cacti web

Code: Select all

<path_cacti>/scripts/3par.ksh <hostname> cpu
Input Fields
Input Fields Add
Name Field Order Friendly Name
hostname 1 hostname

Is there something wrong ? Shoundn't I see HP3PARQC instead of <hostname> ?

I think I'm gonna delete all this and try it back from begining

did you try manually running the 3par.ksh script, unsure how much info in recorded in cacti log

example:

shkenn@cacti:/var/www/html/cacti/scripts> /var/www/html/cacti/scripts/3par.ksh 3par cpu
node0:1 node1:0 node4:0 node5:2

Code: Select all

root@CAC-PD01:/usr/share/cacti/site/scripts# ./3par.ksh HP3PARQC freeSpace fc
total:19.656 allocated:12.931 free:0 usable:0

Code: Select all

root@CAC-PD01:/usr/share/cacti/site/scripts# ./3par.ksh HP3PARQC cpu
node0:2 node1:1
script works great when ran manually.

I am facing a very similar issue. If I run the associated data queries in verbose mode they do not not return results but if I manually run them I receive results. In Cacti they are successful but no items or rows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

when you run script manually are you running as the same user that runs cacti

perhaps your cacti user is lacking permissions

if that's not the case then strace the poller & look for errors

su - cactiuser (or whatever userid you use for cacti)
strace -fo LOGFILE php /var/www/html/cacti/poller.php

then search LOGFILE for 3par.ksh & look for errors
