Monitor down time for ciritical devices and call feature

Post by anmomin1 »

Hi There,
We are using cacti 0.8.8h. I have setup my devices to monitor and send email when device goes down. Under Threshold plugin config under setting.
We have requirement to monitor critical devices and if it's down for long period (10 minutes) we can either initiate another send email to different email or text/call to on call person.
Not sure if anyone come across with that.

Depending on your version of thold, it has a ReAlert period.

Thanks for response...
I see Re-Altering option. it's currently set to 20.

Re-Alerting
Repeat Alert after specified number of poller cycles.

But again it would Re-Alert for every device I am monitoring. Also do we have to call or to text on Re-Alert?

Thanks.

I believe if you are using the latest cacti/thold combination that thold does have the ability to utilise scripts for notifications, etc.
