differences between static graph and real time

Post by Penardav »

Hello,
be cool, I am a rookie.

On our cacti tool (Version 1.1.37) we measure router traffic.

we have a difference beetween
Real time graph => Right mesure
and
Classic Graph => nearly 2.5 below.

For exemple I just tested our link (10 Mbps) ok on Real time graph. and around 3 to 4 mbps on classic graph...

Is anybody has this issue ? How to modify it ?

What poller interval is your static graph, versus what interval is your realtime graph set at. And did you test your bandwidth during the during the entire poller interval plus the one proceeding and after?
Is your static graph set to display the AVERAGE or LAST value for the AREA graph items?

Realtime is giving you small intervals, so its perceived value is going to look higher than a static graph which is giving you an average over the entire time period.
