Ubunti has split the files up and the CLI directory is outside the site, probably for some security reason. The result of this is all the paths in the PHP scripts are wrong. Short of editing them all is there a way that i can create a sym link back into the root of the site directory.
so cli is /usr/share/cacti/cli and the web site is /usr/share/cacti/site/
So will this command work to correct the errors in the path statements
sudo ln -s /usr/share/cacti/cli /usr/share/cacti/site
Are there any other links that would be needed to get this all to work.

Re: ubuntu 18.04 and 16.04
Which scripts?
Please file bugs in Ubuntu or Debian if the packages are broken as this is outside control of cacti developers.
For the delta of Debian/Ubuntu packages with respect to the cacti package, please follow the FAQ link in my signature.
As for the why, probably security as the web-server daemon shouldn't be able to reach them, but that was before my time.
