Import data from scripts

Please publish a tool to easy import data from perl script or bash. Otherwise can u please post a detailed guide that helps people import data quick and easy from a custom script ?

Simply i've written a lot of scripts that i used in mrtg: A bash script that download from cnn.com the temperatures of a city, parse the file and outputs to two values ( temperature and wind speed ), a perl script that use ther server-status apache page and outputs two values ( current connections and connections per second ), a bash script giving out one value ( logged in users in a unix system ), a bash script that parse spamassin logs and so on ...

I've written also a bash script that gets data from motherboard, like cpu temp, fan cooler speed using mbmon tool. And i like to graph data from this script with cacti.

In there I give examples of parsing output and making it so cacti will like it.

To configure a data source in Cacti to use it, please review the documentation and use the "Data Input Methods" of " Unix - Get Logged in Users" as an example.
