Sum total in/out bytes for 3 interfaces

Post by davinci91 »

Hi everyone,

I am getting very very frustrated in SUM 3 interfaces to know how much WAN traffic is processed.

I am using cacti version 1.1.38

Could you please give me a hint how I can build such graph ( 1 graph / 3 interfaces / 1 total value)

Thanks.

You create a graph and add the data sources of 3 interfaces to it. As graphic items, you add one of them as LINE or AREA, the other as LINE:STACK or AREA:STACK. This will stack the data over each other.
An alternative: There is a predefined CDEF called "Total all data sources". This computes the total of all data sources added to a graph. With this, you need to add only one graph item to get the sum of all data sources.

An example of the usage of 3 data sources with the "Total all data sources" cdef is the "Unix - Load Average" graph template.
