Cacti Problem 1 for JLSC

Post by JLSC »

Hi,

Scenario: Yesterday, one of my team add a new graph to our cacti monitoring system, after creation we noticed that all the old cacti graph name or titles changed, same as the new graph we created.
Note: all the graph data are not change just the title/name.

Question: Is there any way to revert the process, or any way to retrieve all the name?

Thanks

Depending on the cacti version, there is an Apply Suggested Names option usually on the table listings. Select all the graphs or data sources you need to reapply this to and use that option.

Are those titles truncated? If so, the problem could be with the length used for the titles?

I doubt the creation of a graph alone changed all the titles to match. Something else happened, either the template was updated or someone mass-edited something.

So what workaround will you give for me to revert this or even back to original names.

As I said above, select all the graphs and then use the Reapply Suggested Names option. If they are still all coming out the same, this would suggest someone updated the suggested names on the tempate

You can do it in the GUI on the Graphs listing page. I haven't ever tried it at command line.
